Fishing in December

We have had some unusually warm days late in the year here in Indiana. Yesterday, Steve, Bill and I took advantage of temps in the upper 60's, and went out for one more last chance.

Our day started off a little slow, until I put on the magic blue lizard. Then business picked up.

Bill had not had much luck until I gave him one of the magic blue lizards.  Then he started catching more fish than anyone.

Unfortunately, I gave Bill the last lizard, and probably the largest fish of the day broke his line.  So from there on, we used some old purple plastic worms I found in my bag. One of those worked for Steve.
All in all, we must have caught a hundert fish.  I think the fish were eating everything in sight in an effort to bulk up for the winter.  Sort of like you humans at all those holiday dinners.
The fish seemed to be congregating near the downwind side of the lake. I imagine the wind was forcing most of the bait fish to that area, and the bass followed them. We caught mostly bass, but I caught a few crappies--including this one that was 14 1/2 inches.  I think it was the biggest one of the year.
